Adapted from the Francis Barrett drawings in The Magus, this crystal ball stand is for use with Johannes Trithemius (1462-1516) work regarding the Drawing of Spirits Into Crystals (DSIC).

Constructed from solid Gabon Ebony and Brass, the stand measures 12" tall x 4 1/2" wide with a 3 1/2" diameter base. The center ring is 5mm thick cast brass with 1mm deep engravings on either side. It is set between the 2 pieces of Ebony joined to form the body. An 18mm bowl is set for the placement of a 50mm/2" sphere. The Star of David with Yod at the top is engraved into the wood and highlighted with gold leaf paint.

This piece weighs nearly two pounds and is constructed to be an heirloom quality tool.
